THE CARDINAL: A COMMUNITY PLAY ABOUT QUEENS
In the summer of 2018, I was in residency at the Cornerstone Theater Summer Institute at Queens College creating a community play with local residents about Queens in collaboration with Cornerstone Theater Company. The show, which was written based on story circles and conversations with local residents, was performed on August 10 and 11, 2018. I worked with composer/lyricist Emily Gardner Xu Hall as the assistant musical director and a musician (accordion/piano) in the production, which was directed by Juliette Carillo, written by Cusi Cram, and performed by a cast of over 50 local residents and professional artists.
A blog post about my experience in the first week of the process: My notes.
